Choir & Music
'Choir, run by the Music teacher, is an option which is available to all Fifth and Sixth Year students. The two groups often join together and perform for Open Nights, school Masses and other school related events. The choir is a great opportunity to make new friends while using your musical talent and participating in something you enjoy doing.' (fifth year student)

Student Exchanges
In Transition Year students have the opportunity to travel to Germany or France on a student exchange. The Irish student hosts the German or French student for a period of three or six weeks and vice versa.
'I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Germany and made great friends with the German exchange student with whom I am still in touch. My German has improved greatly and it was very interesting to experience a different culture.' (Fifth Year Student)
Each year a few German students come to spend a year or six months in Fifth Year at Ard Scoil na nDéise to improve their English. They live with local families and participate in all school activities.
Pantomime & Plays
We are proud of our theatrical productions over the years in Ard Scoil na nDéise. All students are actively encouraged to take part and develop their talents, be they in the areas of acting, singing, dancing, art work, lighting, music or production. Usually over 150 students participate in the pantomime.

The school is also involved in a series of debates organised by the UCC Philosophical Society and reached the final in this competition.
Senior cycle students are encouraged to enter the Soroptimists Public Speaking.
Competition and have also competed in this competition to national level.
In addition, the school has traditionally participated in Concern School Debates and has a successful history in these debates.
Lourdes
Every year the Fifth Years are invited to go as helpers on the Waterford Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes. The girls do a series of fundraising events in aid of the trip. The students enjoy the pilgrimage and learn greatly from the experience.
