Back to School 2012, Open Night, School Ski Trip and Paris Tour, Sympathy Expressed
16th January 2012
Well it’s back to work for everyone in the Ard Scoil. All classes are hard at work of course, in particular the exam classes as they look forward to their “Pres”. There was time for fun though when we took time out to watch the new DVD of the school. Students, especially the first years, had great fun watching themselves on the big screens in the Senior and Junior |Halls. They also enjoyed a preview of the new school brochure which shows off the many aspects of the Ard Scoil.
Open Night, January 26th.
On Thursday, January 26th at 7:30pm, the Ard Scoil will welcome prospective students to our Open Night. The night will begin with a short welcome speech from our Principal, Mrs Dorothy Hughes, after which new students and their parents will have the opportunity to visit the school and experience our excellent facilities. Young visitors usually enjoy the science labs, the Art room, the computer rooms, the P.E.demonstration, the musicians and of course the buns cooked by the girls!!! Afterwards, the girls and their parents can sample the treats served by our wonderful Parents’ Council. We are very proud of our school and we look forward to showing it off!

School Skiing Trip and Tour to Paris.
Some senior students are getting geared up as they look forward to the skiing trip which will take place during the February mid-term break. After months of preparation, they are really excited about the forthcoming trip and will soon be packing their bags for what I’m sure will be a brilliant adventure.
First preparations are also underway for another tour much later in the year when we will be off to visit La Belle Paris in October.
We would like to express our sympathy to our colleagues in the C.B.S. on the death of their friend and Vice Principal, Mr Eamonn O Mairtin. We would also like to send our condolences to his family and his many friends. Ar Dheis DE go raibh a anam.
