Future Leaders Event Organised by Transition Year Students

On 4th November 2021, TYA in Árd Scoil na nDéise organised an event for the first years in the Dungarvan Sports Centre. The first years had a variety of stations to enjoy. The Transition Year students had GAA stations and healthy eating stations for the girls to participate in. Without a doubt, the first years were very enthusiastic about taking part in the event. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and thankfully everything went smoothly and to plan.

The first years seemed to enjoy the GAA obstacle courses the most. There was a lot of movement and happy cheering coming from these stations. The students had six minutes at each station before they had to move onto the next. All the TY students brought in their own prizes for each station to congratulate the first years in taking part. They were very pleased when receiving these prizes. All the students happily participated and without complaints.

The Transition Year girls have been planning for this event for weeks, as part of their Future Leaders Class. They had every detail covered to plan for this event, which gave them a wonderful opportunity to experience leadership and learn about the process to plan an event. It was a great opportunity for the TY students to discover what areas of event planning their skills work best in. The TYs were very pleased about how the day went and would all agree it was a great success. All the girls agreed that they would 100% do something like this again in the future.
